Ever wanted to try your hand at wheel thrown pottery? Do you love the idea of creating something unique and beautiful out of clay? Then join Terra Cafe for a fun and relaxing wheel throwing taster session.

This experience is ideal for anyone who is curious about pottery and wants to learn the basics of throwing on the wheel. You'll be guided by a friendly and experienced instructor, who will show you how to centre, shape, form cylinders and bowls. You'll be amazed by what you can make in just two hours.

“Throwing for two”

private taster session

£144 - 2 hour session for two

Step into the world of pottery and enjoy a hands-on, creative adventure with your partner or bestie in a private wheel throwing lesson designed just for the two of you.

Under the guidance of our expert potter, you’ll get the chance to try your hand at centering & forming cylinders and bowls. No prior experience is necessary, just a passion for trying something new and sharing a special, hands-on experience.

With everything provided for you, from tools and clay to aprons and expert tuition - you’ll have plenty of time to focus on creating together. By the end of your session, you’ll each have your very own pieces to keep as a memento of this unique, artistic experience.

Relax, get creative, and enjoy the fun of making something meaningful together. You can also bring along you own bubbles too (we have prosecco flutes available).

“one to one throwing”

private taster session

£80 - 2 hour session for one

Experience the joy of throwing on the wheel with a specialised one-to-one session, tailored completely to you. Whether you’re a complete beginner looking to try the wheel for the very first time, someone returning for a refresher, or already have some experience and want to refine your technique, this focused lesson gives you the time and space to learn at your own pace.

With dedicated guidance, you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop your confidence in working with clay. You can book a single session for a unique, creative experience, or arrange multiple lessons to build your skills further and really explore the art of wheel throwing with an experienced tutor.

Glaze Options

There are 2 options:

We will glaze all pots you’ve made in a transparent glaze that is food safe and comes out in a cream colour.

Alternatively, you can come back and book onto the Come Back And Glaze session for £10 hour and use our array of beautiful glazes to personalise your pieces. A team member will be on hand to teach and support you. Make sure you book at least 4 weeks after your initial course date, to give time for your creation to dry and be bisque fired prior to your glazing.
